Campus Outreach and Evangelism
The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley in Edinburg, provides an outreach on campus called “Friendship Bracelets.” Once a week, a group of Baptist Student Ministry (BSM) students meet on campus and invite students to create friendship bracelets. Through this ministry, the students share the gospel with those making bracelets. Jocelyn, a BSM student, shared the gospel with Michelle while making a bracelet. Michelle surrendered her life to the Lord and joined the BSM students on a mission trip to South Padre Island for Beach Reach. During this trip, Michelle was baptized. Today, Michelle is growing in her spiritual walk, has joined a church, attends a Bible study, and now helps with the campus outreach friendship bracelet ministry.

En el campus de la Universidad de Texas Rio Grande Valley, en Edinburg, se realiza una actividad semanal de alcance en el campus llamada «Friendship Bracelets» (Pulseras de amistad), organizada por estudiantes del Ministerio Bautista Estudiantil. Cada semana, este grupo se reúne e invita a otros estudiantes a crear pulseras juntos, usando este tiempo como una oportunidad para construir relaciones y compartir el evangelio.
Fue en este contexto donde Jocelyn, una estudiante del BSM, compartió el evangelio con Michelle mientras hacía una pulsera. Michelle entregó su vida al Señor y poco después se unió a un viaje misionero con el BSM a South Padre Island como parte de Beach Reach (Alcance en la Playa). Durante este viaje, Michelle fue bautizada.
Hoy, Michelle continúa creciendo en su caminar con Dios: se ha unido a una iglesia local, asiste a un estudio bíblico y ahora también forma parte del ministerio de las Pulseras de la Amistad en el campus.

Prayer Requests
- Pray that more students would respond to God’s call to serve on the campus as campus missionaries who will share Christ with students who do not know Him.
- Pray for the local BSM staff and students as they meet and invite students through outreach events.
- Pray that God would open doors into areas of the campus that are not being reached – athletes, fraternities and sororities, and music and fine arts students.
