Bridging The Gap

“You are allowing me to do what God has called me to do.” 

When refugees flee persecution to find safety in America, many assume life will be better. However, due to language barriers, new cultures, and unfamiliar systems, daily survival can become incredibly difficult. Helen Cingpi, director of Project: Start, steps into that gap, helping families navigate appointments, careers, and home life in Northeast Dallas.

By providing crucial financial, personal, and professional guidance or by referring families to local churches and agencies for further assistance, Helen actively meets their overwhelming physical needs. This support builds a deep trust that opens doors for spiritual conversations, with many families asking her to return and share the Bible with them. 

Through your generosity, Project: Start is not only meeting the physical and spiritual needs of the 50,000 refugees living in Northeast Dallas, but it is also empowering Helen to fulfill her God-given calling.

Lord, we thank You for the compassion of Project: Start in bridging the gap for newly arrived families. We pray for Helen as she faithfully fulfills Your call to serve refugee families. Please meet the overwhelming physical and spiritual needs of refugees settling in Northeast Dallas. We also ask for Your wisdom and guidance for the Project: Start team as they identify and connect each refugee population to a Gospel movement in their own language and culture. AMEN.

“Ustedes me están permitiendo hacer aquello para lo que Dios me ha llamado”. 

Cuando los refugiados huyen de la persecución en busca de seguridad en los Estados Unidos, muchos creen que sus dificultades quedarán atrás. Sin embargo, las barreras del idioma, una cultura desconocida y sistemas completamente nuevos pueden convertir las tareas más simples de la vida diaria en grandes desafíos. Es allí donde Helen Cingpi, directora de Proyecto: Comienzo, interviene para ayudar a las familias refugiadas a adaptarse y desenvolverse en el noreste de Dallas. 

Ya sea brindando orientación financiera, personal y profesional, o conectando a las familias con iglesias y organizaciones locales que pueden ofrecer apoyo adicional, Helen trabaja incansablemente para atender las necesidades más urgentes. Este acompañamiento genera relaciones de confianza que abren la puerta a conversaciones espirituales, y muchas familias le han pedido que regrese para compartir con ellas las enseñanzas de la Biblia. 

Gracias a su generosidad, Proyecto: Comienzo no solo está atendiendo las necesidades físicas y espirituales de los más de 50,000 refugiados que viven en el noreste de Dallas, sino que también está haciendo posible que Helen continúe cumpliendo el llamado que Dios ha puesto en su vida.

Señor, te damos gracias por la compasión y el servicio de Proyecto: Comienzo al acompañar a familias que están comenzando una nueva vida. Oramos por Helen mientras responde fielmente a Tu llamado de servir a los refugiados. Suple las necesidades físicas, emocionales y espirituales de quienes se están estableciendo en el noreste de Dallas. También te pedimos sabiduría y dirección para el equipo del Proyecto: Comienzo mientras buscan conectar a cada comunidad de refugiados con una iglesia y un movimiento del evangelio en su propio idioma y contexto cultural.
