What is the Mary Hill Davis Offering®?
Understanding that missions is what believers do to reach beyond the needs of their congregations to witness and minister for the purpose of fulfilling the Great Commission, WMU of Texas designed the Mary Hill Davis Offering® to advance Texas Baptists missions.
By partnering together, your gifts sustain WMU of Texas ministries and equip Texas Baptists to send out both ministries and missionaries, providing opportunities for more people to hear the Gospel, find hope in Christ, and develop a misisonal lifestyle.
Who was Mary Hill Davis?
In 1935, the Executive Board of Woman’s Missionary Union of Texas recommended a resolution that the Week of Prayer for State Missions Offering be named the "Mary Hill Davis Offering”.
The resolution was unanimously adopted and the offering was thus named for the woman who had led Baptist women of Texas to pray for and give to missions efforts in Texas.
Today, your gifts to the Mary Hill Davis Offering continue to empower state missions efforts for Texas Baptists.
Where Does Your Money Go?
This year, the statewide goal for Texas Missions is $3.5 million. Every dollar collected funds missions work in Texas and sustains WMU of Texas ministry efforts.
Here is a look at your gifts in action:
Equipping Ministries: Through Project Start, your gifts are helping more than 50,000 refugees in Northeast Dallas receive both physical and spiritual support.
Equipping Missionaries: Through WMU of Texas, Missionary Vanessa Lerma is reaching and serving over 3,000 people along the Texas-Mexico border.

Each year, WMU of Texas walks alongside churches and individuals to help them engage in local missions, establish partnerships for missions, and empower others for worldwide missions.
